about me

Hello!  My name is Kylee Obermeyer. I am a graduate of Louisiana State University’s CIDA accredited Interior Design program, class of 2025. At the end of my LSU run I graduated Summa Cum Laude, was awarded the Presidents medal, reached the President’s/Dean’s list eight semesters and served as the president of LSU’s Theme Park Engineering and Design Club. I am on my way to attaining NCIDQ certification, having passed the IDFX test in October of 2025 and will be moving onwards towards taking my remaining exams once I meet my professional experience requirement.  I am currently a junior designer at Within Studio New Orleans and have worked on projects from themed entertainment to senior living, education, and more.

When deciding what path to take in life I knew I wanted to tell stories but was uncertain of how. While touring Louisiana State University I dropped in to see the interior design students and their work and what I saw on the walls were countless stories. Students were telling tales in their creation of spaces, working tirelessly to reflect the needs, image, and aspirations of their clientele. Whether designing for the fantasy world of themed entertainment, or the needs of education and healthcare, all have an important story to tell. Interior Design has provided me with the opportunity to tell the narrative of organizations and communities, to allow them to see their brand and personality in the spaces they experience every day while also addressing the physiological and psychological needs of the individuals who will utilize the environment. I hope to contribute to the stories of people, one setting at a time.
